Jason Statham (Arthur Bishop) adalah seorang Mechanic. Mechanic disini berarti seseorang yang mempelajari sesuatu secara komprehensif (menyeluruh) dan melakukan tugasnya dengan rapi dan bersih.

Bishop merupakan seorang pembunuh bayaran yang sangat ahli tanpa meninggalkan jejak. Dimulai dengan sebuah tawaran pekerjaan yang mengharuskan dia untuk membunuh temannya sendiri Harry McKeena yang dituduh melakukan korupsi. Bishop tetap melakukannya.

Bishop berteman dengan Steve yang merupakan anak dari Harry McKeena yang dibunuhnya. Steve tidak mengetahui bahwa Bishop yang membunuh ayahnya. Karena Depresi, Steve berusaha mencari pelampiasan dendam nya dengan menjadi Mechanic juga. Dibantu Steve, Bishop melakukan beberapa tugas pembunuhan.

Steve secara tidak sengaja mengetahui bahwa Bishop lah yang membunuh ayahnya. Pada akhir misinya, Steve berusaha membunuh Bishop. "Victory loves preparation", Anda bisa menebak siapakah yang akan bertahan :)

Film ini cukup bagus dengan action yang menarik. I love a smart movie :)

Just to get this out of the way up front, Simon West’s (yes, the guy responsible for “Con Air”, which I love dearly, but will never claim is a good movie) “The Mechanic”, starring Jason Statham and Ben Foster, is a remake of Michael Winner’s 1972 film, starring Charles Bronson and Jan-Michael Vincent. I love the original (I have a dog named Bronson for Christ’s sake), and have been wildly skeptical of the new jack revamp of a film that I hold near and dear. The trailers and images that were released made “The Mechanic 2011” look suspiciously like a run-of-the-mill action film, and the fact that CBS Films tucked the release in at the tail end of the January dead zone did not bode well. Needless to say, my worry increased steadily as the release date approached.
Now that that I’ve written that disclaimer, I have to say that I actually rather enjoyed “The Mechanic 2011”. It is far from perfect, and there are a few moments that might make one cringe, but overall, it stays close to the story of the original (there are a few glaring changes, but I’m going to try to stay away from spoilers as much as I can), and remains true to the tough guy, badass nature of the source material.
Statham plays Arthur Bishop, a “mechanic”, which, much like the term “cleaner” in “Leon”, is code for assassin. He is the best at what he does, meticulous, thorough, clean, and efficient. Most of his jobs look like accidental deaths, and no one ever knows he was there. He’s also isolated and lonely, living a reclusive life listening to LPs in his bayou estate. In the days of the original, Bishop was a unique character, and the lonesome hitman had yet to become an overused type. The only connections, you can’t call them friends, Bishop has in this world are his mentor Harry (Donald Sutherland), and a prostitute (Mini Anden) he frequents. She’s one of the only women in “The Mechanic” (the other is a woman Ben Foster’s character bangs in a back alley, it’s obvious who the target audience is here), and doesn’t even believe that Bishop’s real name is Arthur.

When Bishop is commissioned to hit Harry, he’s conflicted, but ultimately completes the assignment with a professional touch, making it look like a random New Orleans car jacking gone bad. Harry’s estranged son Steve (Foster) shows up to deal with the death of his father. He has a vicious streak, and an unfocused hankering for vengeance, and ultimately Bishop takes the troubled youngster under his wing, teaching him the ways of his trade. The two are a contrast in styles. Bishop is all subtly and quiet precision, whereas Steve is brash and hot headed, prone to being contrary simply for the sake of being difficult, but the two form a bond, and start working together after a sweet training montage full of gunfire and exploding cinderblocks.
Statham really only does one thing, but he does that one thing well, and I generally like this one thing that he does. He’s one of the few actors making this type of film and not being relegated to the direct to video market (not that that’s a bad thing, DTV is where some of the best action films are being made). This isn’t the wild, fast-paced, FX heavy action of filmmakers like Michael Bay, “The Mechanic” is a throwback to earlier films, films like the original, driven by tough as leather characters being tough, and Statham is a nice fit for the lead. Sure he’s balding and has a funny accent, but he’s also a decent badass, and finds a perfect balance with Foster, who brings some nice things to the table as well. Steve has a smartass, gallows humor to him, but even though he breaks up the serious atmosphere with a few laughs for punctuation, you can also see the emotional undercurrent in his character. He puts up a tough front about the death of his father, but you know that the barrier is a defense mechanism and that he has no idea how to cope except through eruptions of violence.
Speaking of violence, “The Mechanic” is certainly doesn’t shy away from brutality. There are a couple of moments that border on being hard to watch, like when Steve goes fishing for carjackers, hoping to catch the one who murdered his father.

One thing I’ll say about the end, don’t worry, it doesn’t give much away, is that there are a bunch of unnecessary explosions. It’s like they got close to the end of the shoot, looked around, realized they were under budget, and decided, what the hell, let’s blow some shit up, and then they did.
“The Mechanic” doesn’t break any new ground, and it isn’t perfect, there are a couple moments that skew towards being James Bond-ish (though thankfully they pull back from that quickly), but it delivers almost everything I want out of a movie like this. When I think of the original, the first word that springs to mind is badass, and as far as I’m concerned, West, Statham, Foster, and crew did a pretty good job capturing that in their remake, staying true to the roots of the story. I walked out of the theater pretty satisfied. And other fans of this genre of tough guy action will notice multiple references to “Die Hard”, as well as a tip of the cap to “Rolling Thunder”, so it has that going for it. - Brent McKnight

Saya memiliki seorang teman yang menjadi kepala sekolah. Ia adalah orang yang sangat memperhatikan kesejahteraan karyawannya. Gaji guru dan karyawan beberapa kali dinaikkan agar standar hidup mereka membaik. Namun, di sisi lain ia pun menuntut agar semua karyawan dapat memberikan yang terbaik untuk sekolah tersebut. Ia tidak segan-segan untuk marah dan menegur karyawan yang malas dan tidak melakukan hal yang seharusnya.

Dalam bacaan hari ini, Tuhan Yesus berbicara tentang tuntutan; siapa yang diberi banyak akan dituntut banyak pula. Itu sudah hukumnya. Tuhan tidak akan pernah memberikan sesuatu kepada manusia, apabila hal itu akan mereka sia-siakan. Dia akan menuntut pertanggungjawaban atas segala sesuatu yang diberikan kepada kita. Ini bukan berarti Tuhan tidak rela memberikannya kepada kita, melainkan Dia ingin agar semua yang ada pada kita dapat dipakai secara maksimal sesuai dengan tujuan yang Allah kehendaki. Dan, tentunya Allah tidak akan sembarangan memberikan sesuatu kepada manusia. Allah tidak akan memberi cangkul kepada pemain sepak bola, atau gergaji kepada tukang masak. Allah tetap akan memberikan bola kepada pemain sepak bola dan gergaji kepada tukang kayu. Selanjutnya, Allah akan menuntut agar bola dan gergaji itu digunakan secara maksimal oleh masing-masing pribadi tersebut.

Seberapa besar kita menyadari segala pemberian Tuhan dan seberapa besar kita memahami tuntutan-Nya? Bagaimana dengan waktu, kepintaran, talenta atau bakat, bahkan harta yang Tuhan berikan kepada kita? Apakah kita sudah menggunakannya sesuai tuntutan Allah?

Sutradara Australia yang sering mengarahkan film-film Hollywood kembali dengan film tentang gulag Siberia. Peter Weir bukanlah nama baru dalam bisnis film Hollywood. Terkenal berkat film-filmnya yang begitu khas macam 'Dead Poets Society' (1989), 'The Truman Show' (1998) dan 'Master and Commander:The Far Side of the World', Peter Weir bisa jadi merupakan sutradara yang paling tepat untuk skenario 'The Way Back' yang berasal dari memoir Slavomir Rawicz berjudul 'The Long Walk: The True Story of a Trek to Freedom' yang sangat populer di Eropa ketika diterbitkan pada 1956.

Meski cerita aslinya berdasar kisah seorang Polandia, Peter Weir menggunakan aktor-aktor Hollywood, seperti Jim Sturgess, Colin Farrell, Ed Harris dan Saoirse Ronan. Untungnya, Weir tidak berusaha membuat ceritanya menjadi Hollywood. Hasilnya, film ini mampu menggambarkan kekejian rezim Komunis Rusia (Stalin) dan musim dingin gulag Siberia, serta perjuangan seorang manusia untuk mendapatkan kebebasannya.

Kisah film ini sendiri mengingatkan kita pada novel Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, 'The Gulag Archipelago' dan 'One Day of the Life of Ivan Denisovich'. Enam orang plus satu perempuan tawanan rezim Komunis Rusia berjalan kaki sepanjang 4000 mil dari Siberia yang ganas, melewati Mongolia, Tibet, Gurun Gobi, China hingga ke India untuk lari dari kerja paksa dan pemenjaraan rezim Stalin.

Pelarian yang cukup heroik itu dipimpin oleh Janusz, seorang tawanan yang masuk kamp Siberia karena pengkhianatan istrinya. Melihat situasi penjara Siberia yang kekejamannya sulit digambarkan dengan kata-kata, ia memimpin pelarian bersama Mr. Smith (seorang insinyur Amerika), Valka (dimainkan dengan mengesankan oleh Colin Farrell), penjahat kelas teri yang sangat temperamental dan empat orang lainnya dengan berbagai karakter (artis, tukang masak, si rabun yang meninggal di awal perjalanan, dan seorang pendeta).

Di tengah perjalanan, mereka bertemu dengan seorang gadis Polandia, Irena (diperankan oleh si cantik Saoirse Ronan) yang pada mulanya tidak diinginkan, namun akhirnya menjadi perekat di antara kelima orang laki-laki yang bertahan dan sampai ke India. Dalam perjalanan ini, alam yang tanpa ampun adalah musuh sekaligus teman keenam mantan tawanan itu: kelaparan,dingin, panas, penyakit, serigala, dan keputusasaan menyatu seolah hendak meruntuhkan semangat orang-orang yang tertindas, pertama-tama oleh kekuatan politik, dan kedua oleh alam yang ganas.

Para pejalan ini bertahan dengan memakan ikan, anjing, lumut, ular, dan berbagai hal yang bisa mereka temukan di jalan. Mereka terkena badai salju, badai pasir hingga terancam dibunuh oleh penduduk lokal. Segala rintangan ini mengantarkan mereka pada satu kesadaran bahwa kebebasan tidaklah berharga murah.

Dengan materi cerita seperti itu, Peter Weir mampu menampilkan perjuangan dan kemenangan semangat seorang manusia. Dipenuhi dengan gambar-gambar yang sangat luar biasa hasil karya sinematografer Russell Boyd, 'The Way Back' adalah sebuah kisah perjalanan yang menguji kekuatan manusia dalam mempertahankan hidupnya. Meski tidak sesensasional dan sedramatis film-film Hollywood, film ini mampu memberikan gambaran tiap karakter dengan jarak yang cukup sehingga kita bisa mengambil pelajaran darinya.

Mengambil gambar di lokasi sesungguhnya (bukan studio) di Bulgaria, Maroko dan India, Peter Weir cukup berhati-hati dalam menggambarkan berbagai konflik yang terjadi, sehingga karakter Irena sebagai satu-satunya perempuan dihindarkan dari 'drama' khas Hollywood, yakni perempuan sebagai objek rebutan para laki-laki. Mungkin di sinilah, kekuatan sekaligus kelemahan film ini. Kurangnya sisi drama dan detail emosi bisa jadi mengecewakan penonton, namun di sisi lain, bisa jadi bukti kepiwaian Weir untuk tidak menjadikan film ini sebagai klise.

Persoalan lain mungkin menyangkut penghadiran footage dokumenter dari sejarah Komunisme di Eropa dan teks yang menyatakan bahwa 'The Way Back' berdasar kisah nyata. Sekarang ini, beberapa pihak mempersoalkan kebenaran memoir Slavomir Rawicz karena berdasarkan dokumen Russia, ia telah dibebaskan dari Siberia pada 1940 dan tidak pernah melakukan perjalanan hingga ke India. Namun, apapun fakta sejarahnya, 'The Way Back' adalah film fiksi yang akan membuat Peter Weir tetap dihormati sebagai seorang master yang menghasilkan film-film bermutu.

Setelah beberapa kali The Rock alias Dwayne Johnson ini berperan sebagai peran yang imut-imut, kali ini Dwayne bermain sangat garang di film ini. Perannya sebagai pembunuh berdarah dingin, yang tidak memiliki keraguannya untuk membunuh.

Dwayne berhasil merampok sebuah bank di Amerika bersama teman-teman dan kakaknya. Tetapi setelah berhasil merampok, ada seorang geng yang datang membunuh kakaknya dan kemudian mengambil uang hasil rampokan tersebut. Dwayne ditemukan sendiri kemudian dipenjara.

Setelah keluar dari penjara, Dwayne ini kemudian mencari informasi mengenai geng yang telah membunuh kakaknya dan ingin membalas dendam. Dengan mendatani musuhnya satu demi satu, Dwayne membunuhnya dengan sadis.

Disamping itu, ada polisi dan satu pembunuh bayaran yang ikut mencari-cari dia. Siapakah orang yang ada dibalik telah membocorkan informasi rahasia mengenai perampokan bank tersebut?

Yahoo Messenger cannot display any text message / chat

Yups, for an hour ago, my YM account cannot display any chat from my friend, and whe i type it and send it to my message, the message just show a blank white.

To resolve this just follow the instruction bellow :

Open a registry editor (click Start, click Run. On the Open box, type: regedit and then press Enter). Navigate to the following key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft\ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Internet Settings \ Zones

There should only be 5 items there, numbered 0 to 4. At my registry, it will be display "L" key value. If you see a different one, especially if you see items that shows up as box, try deleting it. (Backup your registry first). If you were able to delete that extra item, this might fix the bug, and you will be able to see the chat messages again in yahoo messenger."

I have try it my self and it Works !! :)

How to Turn Your iPhone Into A Wifi Hotspot

This has to be the most useful app I’ve seen in quite a while. I had heard about MyWi before but I thought it was only an app to tether your iPhone so I didn’t even look at it. But being able to use your iPhone as a wireless hotspot is just amazing!

If you can’t see the benefits of using your iPhone as a wireless router, then let me give you an example. My fiancee and I are currently in Thailand. Unfortunately our hotel doesn’t offer wifi. I do however have a local SIM card and a data plan which I use to tether my iPhone. By creating a wifi hotspot with my iPhone, I literally turn it into a modem/wifi router and my fiancee can now connect to the internet with her iPod Touch.

How to Turn Your iPhone Into A Wireless Router
Step 1: Make sure your iPhone is jailbroken and that it is running at least OS 3.0.

Step 2: Launch Cydia and search for “MyWi”. If you don’t have Rock installed on your iPhone and you don’t want it, choose the “MyWi (no Rock)” version.

Step 3: Purchase ($9.99) and install MyWi then reboot your iPhone.

Step 4: Launch MyWi and tweak the settings to your liking:

Change the hotspot name
Change the channel
Enable Wep security
Enable USB/Bluetooth tethering
That’s it. You should now be able to use your iPhone as a modem and share your internet connection with other computers or iPods around you.

Note that using your iPhone as a wifi router is an absolute battery killer. Make sure it is plugged in so you don’t run out of juice in just a few minutes.

Little Focker (2010)

Masih ingat dengan Gaylord Focker ? Ya, dia adalah seorang perawat laki-laki yang di film ini sudah menikah dengan anak dari seorang mantan agen mata-mata kepolisian (Jack Byrnes).

Film ini mengisahkan mengenai usaha Greg untuk mempertahankan keluarganya. Jack Byrnes, mertua si Jack, merupakan orang yang keras, selalu curiga dan selalu mengawasi menantunya untuk mempertahankan keturunan Byrnes yang terhormat...termasuk Greg Focker ini.

Film ini mengisahkan beberapa selisih paham antara Greg Focker dengan Jack Byrnes, terutama karena kesalah pahaman. Jack diundang untuk mengisi pidato mengenai obat kuat oleh seorang wanita cantik bernama Andi. Jack secara kebetulan melihat Focker sedang berdua dengan Andi.

Karena merasa Greg tidak bisa menjadi Suami yang baik buat anak perempuannya, maka Jack menyarankan anaknya untuk berpindah hati ke pria lain. Tetapi, walaupun diterpa berbagai cobaan, si Greg tetap bisa membuktikan bahwa dirinya merupakan suami yang baik dan bertanggung jawab.

Film ini sangat kocak dan lucu, terutama humornya yang sedikit menjurus kearah "itu". Juga terdapat makna film yang menyentuh bagi para keluarga. Pokoknya segera tonton film ini :)

Still remember with Gaylord Focker ? Yeah, He's a nurse that work at hospital. Now, he had married with Jack Byrnes daughter and have a two kids. This film tell about trouble with his father in law Jack that effect with their family.

This film tell about the Focker to struggle to keep his family. Jack always follow Focker everywhere, to keep watching focker. Focker can show that He can be a good husband at his family, without help of his father in law.

This film teach us many thing about family. With a lot humour, i think this film very recommended to watch :) And don't forget to watch "Meet the Focker", a previous film of Little focker :)

How to Install Themes Manually without Cydia at Iphone

A reader asked, “Sometimes, I stumbled upon websites that offer some great Winterboard themes for download. I know how I can download & install Winterboard theme via Cydia. But I can’t find those themes on Cydia. So, how can I install those themes that are downloaded directly from web?”

Very good question. Cydia offers the most straightforward way to download Winterboard theme. But it’s not the only channel you can find awesome Winterboard theme online. Say, you can find tons of Winterboard theme at Softpedia. Usually, these Winterboard themes are packed in a zip file. So, how do you install it?

Get Prepared
That’s pretty easy to install Winterboard theme manually. But first, let’s get prepared.

1.You’ll have to download DiskAid, which is a free file explorer for iPhone. You can use DiskAid to transfer file back and forth between iPhone and your computer. For more information, check out this post.
2.Download the Winterboard theme you love and extract the zipped file. For demonstration, I download the Super Mario theme from Softpedia and extract in the download folder. Or You can download it at PandaApps



Install Winterboard Theme via DiskAid
So, after you get everything ready. Connect your iPhone to your computer via USB cable and launch DiskAid. Then select “Root folder” in the lower-left option. Answer “yes” for the warning. This option will let you browse the whole iPhone file system.



Next, on the left pane, go to “Library” and then access “Themes” folder. All Winterboard theme files are placed under this folder. If you have already installed some Winterboard themes on your iPhone, you’ll see those theme folders.



Okay, to copy the themes you have download, click “Copy Folder to Device” and select the theme folder you just extracted. Click “OK” to confirm and wait for the transfer process to complete.



That’s it. The Winterboard theme is installed on your iPhone. Go back to your iPhone and launch Winterboard. The theme is already there.

Alexander Pierce merupakan cowok yang dicintai Ward, tetapi meninggalkan nya untuk kabur dari seorang mafia Rusia. Alexander Pierce merupakan anak buah dari sebuah mafia yang kemudian kabur dengan membawa uang mereka.

Berawal dari surat instruksi yang diberikan Alexander Pierce, maka Ward bertemu seorang Tourist bernama Frank (Johnny Depp) di kereta. Ward dan Frank terlibat dalam suatu adegan pengejaran yang akhirnya selalu menemukan mereka berdua. Sampai akhirnya, Ward akan dibunuh oleh sang Mafia, dan akhirnya Alexander Pierce muncul.

Siapakah Alexander Pierce tersebut ? Saksikan sendiri di bioskop terdekat Anda !
Film ini sangan mengejutkan karena alur crita nya yang pelan tetapi sangat menarik. Pada akhir cerita tokoh yang dicari-cari tersebut muncul tanpa diduga-duga. Interesting!!! :)
